Board of directors take the reins at UBC

United Business Centres plc (UBC) has announced that the company will now be managed on a co-operative basis by its board of directors.  Following a period of unprecedented expansion which has seen the firm grow from five to 23 centres across England within the first six months of 2008, UBC will focus in the short term on consolidating its current position in the market and review its expansion plans in 2009.

This new development also sees Tim Jackson-Waite, previously Head of Operations, appointed to the board in the newly created role of Operations Director.  Tim joins Finance Director Christian Osborne, an original board member, and Sales Director Ken Oakes, who joined UBC in August 2008, to form an experienced triumvirate of combined skills that will define UBC’s direction and drive the company’s growth.

Commenting on the management changes, Ken Oakes said: "The culture at UBC has always been one of working together as a unit; some even call it 'the UBC family'.  Our new approach to running the business embraces this philosophy, ensuring that everyone’s contribution is valued.  It is a new dawn for UBC in terms of management, but it is very much business as usual for our clients.  One of our primary goals will be to enhance our clients’ experience with UBC and we are already evaluating a number of new initiatives to achieve this.  We look forward to developing these further in 2009."
